About Me
My name is Chris Lynch, and I’m a full-stack web developer with a strong foundation in back-end systems, API integration, and user-focused design. I specialize in building modern, scalable applications that solve real-world problems—particularly in areas where technology can support vulnerable or underserved populations. Before entering the tech world, I served in federal law enforcement, a career that taught me the importance of precision, responsibility, and helping people navigate complex bureaucracies. Today, I channel those same values into my development work, combining technical skills with real-world empathy.
After retiring from federal service, I made the decision to pursue a new challenge: web development. I enrolled at BYU-Idaho, where I’ve nearly completed a bachelor's degree in Software Development, maintaining a 3.7 GPA while juggling work, school, and family life. Throughout this journey, I’ve developed web applications using Node.js, MongoDB, MySQL, and front-end tools like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React. I enjoy working on both client and server-side code, and I'm particularly drawn to projects that require thoughtful user experience design, robust authentication systems, and secure data handling.
One of the projects I’m most proud of is “Immigration Pathways,” a web platform I built to support my consulting business, where I assist individuals and families with immigration paperwork and case preparation. This platform allows clients to upload and receive documents, track progress, and stay informed throughout their immigration journey—all without the risk of unauthorized legal advice. Building this tool required me to not only design and develop from scratch but also understand compliance, user trust, and secure architecture. It represents exactly the kind of purpose-driven development I aspire to do more of.
Outside of coding, I’m a proud husband and father of three. I enjoy reading, traveling, working out, and spending time outdoors. Whether I’m collaborating with a team or tackling a solo project, I bring a thoughtful, resourceful, and mission-oriented mindset to everything I do. My goal is to join an organization where I can continue to grow as a developer, contribute meaningfully to real-world solutions, and help create technology that makes life easier, safer, and more accessible for the people who use it.
